LOCA - Sunset by the Sea

Sunset in Laguna - photo by Rodika George

Friday May 1st, I was invited by LOCA to attend their celebration party of the Honorary Chair Betsy Jenkins at the beautiful Pacific Edge Villa, and demonstrate my trade. Many art lovers came together - I had to paint an ocean background to a commissioned portrait and I use this opportunity to create a beautiful sunset.

Good food, wine, music... - Everybody had fun in this beautiful inspiring setting
This marked the beginning of summer - Many events in May -

Ahmad treated us with some delicious deserts -

We had fun and everybody was inspired - time flu

Actually this is going to be my last session for now - I have some mural projects that it will take most of the time and I have to set aside this chapter -

Saint Regis &NFL

Sometimes I enjoy going out....

Monday March 23 I was invited to show my artwork at St. Regis in Laguna Niguel, CA. That's why no Monday Modeling Session this time
Who can refuse that! It was an NFL get together (owners and coaches)
I was there to promote my fine art portraiture - got a good response -

This is the view from the Grand Lawn where the party was on.
My wife, Rodika - took the shot - really nice considering that she is not using a professional camera

Bella Hristova and her 1655 Amati

Last Tuesday night I had the great opportunity to admire and contemplate the companion of an incredible talented young girl. Her name is Bella Hristova and she's a violin player. I'm sorry she is not just a violin player... she is an angel from another world who came here to enlighten and indulge our lives. Thank you God for your creations!

I only made a conte sketch and some color remarques.

At the end of the session she played some Bach than she stunned us with the sound of her 1655 Amati violin, once owned by the famous violinist Louis Krasner, interpreting a Violin Concerto by Brahms.

Young talents are the greatest inspiration for me. I will look forward for Bella's future climbing career.

Monday Night Modeling Session

Last night our beautiful model Amanda dressed with this Scarlett Red blouse was our inspiration. Barbara, Sheryl, Renuka, Jim and I were really quiet and frenetically made drawings and paintings. Nobody wanted the evening to end - But we always look forward for the next session.
Just a few snap-shots ...

Monday Night Modeling Session

Monday night is becoming one of my favorite time of the week. Lately I find myself with a weekend wish of a good Monday! Nice start to a new week!
I just got a new decor for my studio modeling sessions - an old piano organ.
Amanda was completing the classical pose for this night.

Amanda was my beautiful model on some of my portrait workshops a year ago.
While Ahmad filmed and took pictures of my work, Pam, Joyce and Barbara concentrate teir attention on portraying our beautiful blond model.

Everybody had a good time!

Monday Night Modeling Session

If you are asking yourself - Did we have a good time?
Oh, Yes - it was perfect

Our muse was Patty. Joyce, Mary, Renuka and Ahmad were painting and drawing. Background music by Patty's request was Andrea Bocelli.

In the last few years I was busy during the summer time with the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach - showing and presenting my work and also having few portrait demonstrations. This year I will not be in the festival so I will post my future demonstrations and workshops on my website and here as well. Also I have in the schedule already few mural decoration projects and probably others will follow so, I'm quite sure is going to be a busy summer.

Monday Night Modeling Session

Lately it's been cold, rainy - nothing like Southern California I know
This morning my cat watched the rain with big frightened eyes - hail was coming down
But last night was nice and warm in my studio - Patty was modeling - and let's not forget Valentino (her dog - slept all evening on his little blanket). Barbara, Pat, Ann, Parviz and I we enjoyed the beautiful pose , some coffee and nice music. The time flu - I am never tired after such a nice evening, I could go on and on ...

Monday Night Modeling Session

Back from Napa Valley - ready to go to work again after having so much fun - Dina is back and new artists joined me at the modeling session. It is so cold outside (about 30 degrees) but nice and cozy in the studio. Piano playing n the background, fresh new pot of coffee - we are ready to enjoy the evening.

Rodika is taking the pictures while Joyce, Renuka, Amad and I do nothing else than paint or draw - what can be better!

Mustard Festival - Cordair Gallery

Besides the many holidays and wine related celebrations, Napa Valley is also having their annual "Mustard Festival". On February 7 & 8, art showas and galleries around Napa city organized special festivities in conjunction with the "Mustard Festival". Quent Cordair Gallery is representing my artwork in Napa city area.

Linda - gallery director- had invited me to do some portrait demos and of course to taste some good wine. I could not refuse either!

So, over the weekend me and my wife Rodika we went up north to Napa in the beautiful Napa Valley, and there we were leaving Orange County were it was raining, cold and ugly to join the Napa community - wonderful people - peaceful, joyful - always ready to make new friends. We were invited to Ceja tasting room in Downtown Napa and the owner Amelia shared with us the wonderful selection of Ceja wines and the history of their family. It was like we were friends for ever.

Here are some portraits that I've done in this weekend!

If you want to have a few days to pamper yourself go to Napa and there make sure you go and visit Quent Cordair Gallery - it's a must!

Monday Night Modeling Session

Hey, this girl, Dina is a doll!
Nice feeling to look at and quiet a professional attitude in the way she's modeling. Thinking she's posing for artists for the first time, I'm sure she's going to have a busy career pretty soon.

Well, this was the first in a series of modeling sessions called "Monday Night Classic". Barbara, Parviz, Ann and Meriam were the guests. Rodika and I were the hosts. My studio was the environment. The background was mostly light classic Italian opera and Meriam complemented with a very thoughtful picked bottle of Paso Robles "Castoro Cellars" 2006 Zinfandel.

Time went by in a flash and everybody had a nice comment about the evening. I am anxious to set-up another session again next Monday
